Bharatesh Education Trust’s Global Business School and Bharatesh Homeopathic Medical College in association with Indian Red Cross Society Belgaum observed World No Tobacco day on 31st May 2018. Shri Vikas Kalgatagi, Honarary secretary of Indian Red Cross Society graced the inauguration program. Shri Ashok Badami, in charge of Disaster Management from Indian Red Cross Society, Belgaum District highlighted upon the impact of consumption of tobacco and tobacco products. He expressed that consumption of tobacco products effects the entire body system and results into many critical health issues like heart attacks, strokes and cancer etc. He also told that passive smoking is very dangerous to the people around the smokers.
Shri Rajeev Doddannavar opined that sale of tobacco needs to be stopped for betterment of the people in the society to live happy life. More than 100 students participated in rally holding the placards creating awareness among the public upon the effects of tobacco consumption and used Slogans such as Buy Tobacco and Get Cancer Free, say No to tobacco and leave consumption of Tobacco and live healthy life. Students. MBA students played a skit at Belagavi bus stand portraying the bad effects of tobacco consumption on the youth, family and ultimately on the society. They showcased the vital role of youth in building healthier nation. Prof. Ranjana Upashi along with the MBA 1st year students coordinated the programme.
