A half a day workshop on Smartphone Marketing: Traditional and Modern Retail Trade was organized by Bharatesh Global Business School for MBA students on 13 th
September 2024. The resource person of the workshop was Mr. Abhishek Patil, Area Business Manager, Samsung India Electronic Private Ltd. The workshop aimed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the smartphone marketing and sales in General & modern trade. Students were exposed to
the real world of sales with various sales tactics and how to build rapport with retailers, dealers and distributors was discussed. The workshop was divided into two sessions, each focusing on different aspects of the general and Modern trade and Business growth strategies. General Trade: This session provided an outline of general and modern trade. The students were given insights on both the types of trade in different industries like telecommunication market, Paints and Home décor market and Smartphone market. The role of business manager in sales was discussed with real life situations that a business manager has to deal every day. Role of a Sales Personnel: The session discussed the sales organizational hierarchy in different sectors, reporting, Data Analysis, role and responsibilities of a Sales Manager
was discussed. The half –day workshop was interactive with Q and A session. The session was appreciated by the students as it presented acquaintance to the field
sales management across different sectors. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Padmapriya R Katagal.
