Bharatesh MBA first year students visited Shanti Iron and Steels on 24th March 2017. Mr. Kartik Unkall, HR Manager welcomed the students and the staff. Students were educated on functioning of the company, production process and the benefits of lean six sigma application. Students made the event successful by asking questions pertaining to fixing the targets, processing of defective items and recruitment etc.
This was followed by visit to Shantai Second Childhood, home for the aged people. Ms. Rekha Balekundri, Assistant Manager of the home explained the students about the functioning of the home.
The inmates were filled with joy and shared their distress, their children and family with the students. Bharatesh MBA departments sponsored one-day lunch and got an unique opportunity of having the lunch along with them. Students hosted one-hour program at the ashram and played number of games. Students opined that this was a special and unique program filled with the learning experience being organized by BET GBS.
Mr. Sammed, Mr. Sudheera, Mr. Akshay and Mr. Vaibhav took the lead in organizing the program and faculty member Ms. Ranjana Upashi guided the students. Director Dr. Govind Welling and Chairman GC Shri Vinod Dodannavar expressed that such social activities needs to be practiced to create awareness among the students on such sensitive social issues developing in the society.
