World AIDS day was observed at BET GBS with an objective to create awareness on AIDS pandemic, its prevention and control. Mrs. Nagaratna,Founder President,Ashraya Foundation, Belgaum educated the students on spreading of HIV through blood transfusion, sexual transmission and contaminated needles etc. Diarrhoea, Fever, skin rash and weight loss are the various symptoms of AIDs, she said.She told any type social contact such as touching, presence in the same room, sharing common meal, using same toilets will not put anyone at risk of HIV infection and is also not spread by insects or other animals.She advised the students to take precautionary measures for prevention of HIV infection.Asst.
