Management students of BETGBS visited Oerlikon (Fairfield Atlas) on 9thDecember, 2016 to understand the export procedure and its documentation. The Oerlikon Group has been present in India since the year 1984, operating through three major Segments namely Surface Solutions, Manmade Fibers and Drive Systems.
Oerlikon Fairfield India started its operations in year 2000 by overtaking the Atlas Gears Private Limited the plant is located in Shinnoli and is specialized in gears, ring gears, shafts and planetary assemblies. Mr. Amit Putlekar, HR Manager guided us through the overview of the firm, Mr. Vijay Sinha, CFO and Mr. Rajiv Kellekar, GM for Excise enlightened us on export documentation and export procedure carried out at Orlikeon. The unit receives several benefits coming under the purview of EOU were clearly stated. Importance of Certificate of Origin, EPC (Export Promotion Council), ECGC (Export Credit Guarantee Corporation), IEC number (Export Import Code) and its issuance from DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) were emphasized.
