Workshop on Modern Trade

A workshop on Modern Trade in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Fast-
Moving Consumer Durables (FMCD) was organized by Bharatesh Global Business
School for second year MBA students on 10 th of February 2024. The workshop aimed to
provide students with an in-depth understanding of the current trends and future
prospects of modern trade in these sectors.
The workshop was divided into two sessions, each focusing on different aspects of
modern trade:
Understanding Modern Trade: This session provided an overview of modern trade, its
advantages over General trade, and its impact on the FMCG and FMCD sectors. This
session delved into the changing consumer behavior patterns and how they influence
market trends in the FMCG and FMCD sectors.
Role of Key Accounts Manager: The session discussed the sales organizational
hierarchy, reporting, Data Analysis, role and responsibilities of a Key accounts Manager
was discussed. The half –day workshop was interactive with sharing experiences of
handling key accounts in Modern Trade.
The resource person of the Workshop was Ms. Nivedita Patil Key Accounts Manager at
Indkal Technologies-official license for Acer and Black+Decker Large Appliances for
Pan India. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Padmapriya R Katagal.
The session was appreciated by the students as it gave exposure to the field sales in
Modern Trade.
