NICU RN Job Details – Ithaca, NY

• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Maternal Child Health Department
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: June 1, 2025
• End Date: August 31, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts/week)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in New York State (NYS RN license required)
• Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or higher (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (NICU or post-partum nursing experience preferred)
• BLS certification required upon hire
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required within 6 months of hire
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements, light lifting, and stand or walk for extended periods

NICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to neonates and mothers in the Maternal Child Health department
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality clinical support
• Perform patient assessment, data collection, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs
• Maintain compliance with nursing standards and guidelines (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN)
• Operate and maintain NICU equipment and technology for optimal patient care
