Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a senior-level MuleSoft Developer to provide software development, integration support and testing services in a remote environment. The developer will work closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Lead Engineer, AVP of Integrations and Architecture and the full Scrum team. This role requires deep expertise in MuleSoft development, integration strategy, API best practices, reusable asset development and Agile delivery.

The MuleSoft Developer will contribute to integration strategy, mentor team members, deliver high-quality integration solutions and ensure the team follows development best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy & Leadership

  • Provide architectural approaches and strategies for complex integration solutions.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise architects during implementation.

  • Contribute to the advancement of the organization’s integration strategy.

  • Develop foundational integration components to support scaling and consistency.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to onshore/offshore team members.

  • Deliver solutions that meet acceptance criteria for assigned user stories.

Technical Expertise & Best Practices

  • Provide expertise and support in development techniques, integration patterns and reuse across the MuleSoft platform.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising from development challenges.

  • Create reusable assets such as modules, connectors, code templates, algorithms, samples and developer documentation.

  • Participate in and improve coding standards, solution reviews, release management and quality validation processes.

Agile Collaboration & Delivery

  • Ensure the Scrum team is fully informed on story/task progress.

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning and backlog grooming.

  • Maintain accurate status updates for tasks, bugs and user stories.

  • Review existing SDLC practices and recommend improvements for efficiency and performance.

CloudHub Support & Deployment

  • Assist with deployment, configuration, monitoring and support of MuleSoft CloudHub environments.

  • Support production deployments, code releases and verification testing.

  • Participate in incident response and production issue resolution when needed.

General Development Responsibilities

  • Document and maintain consistent architecture and technical approaches for integration and web-based solutions.

  • Participate in code, environment and design reviews.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and version control best practices.

  • Work within full-stack frameworks as required (ColdFusion, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS, XML, AEM).

  • Support multiple relational database platforms including MySQL and Oracle.

  • Collaborate with internal teams such as project management, UX, server engineering, QA and content teams.

  • Provide administrative support for CMS functionalities (permissions, user management).

  • Provide support to content authors and web producers.

  • Build, maintain, and deploy MuleSoft ESB solutions and applications.

Requirements

Edu cation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.

  • MuleSoft Certified Developer.

  • 3–6 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Experience with RESTful web services and full software development lifecycle.

  • Expertise in cloud computing, API integration, cloud messaging, ground-to-cloud connectivity and distributed systems.

  • Experience with Java, RAML, JSON and MuleSoft DataWeave.

  • Experience using Maven for project builds.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proficiency in SQL Server and/or Oracle including stored procedures and queries.

  • Understanding of queuing solutions and async messaging.

  • Experience with one or more: HTML, CSS, AJAX, Bootstrap, JSON, Java, JavaScript, ColdFusion, relational databases, XML, Web Services, Adobe CMS, CommonSpot CMS.

  • Experience working with source control systems such as TFS, Git or similar.

  • Knowledge of integrations with enterprise systems:

    • LMS (D2L)

    • SIS (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions)

    • CRM (Salesforce)

    • ERP (Workday)

    • AEM

  • Strong knowledge of coding and architectural best practices.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while staying proactive and positive.

  • Ability to learn new business and technical concepts quickly.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset.

  • Understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.

  • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
