Job Title: ​​Tig Welding Technician Location: ​​Paris, IL Zip Code: ​​61944 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: ​​$20.00 - $30.00/hr DoE Shift: 4-10 hour days Belcan is looking for a Tig Welding Technician for one of our clients in Paris, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, assemble and fusion weld various metal components using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), both manual and automatic.
• Demonstrate ability and skills to certify on all welding techniques for sheet, tube groove, and fillet welds in all base metal groups appropriate to product mix.
• Inspect weld quality to assure weld joints are of acceptable quality without blowouts, weld beads are consistent, accurate, and meet size and/or other applicable specification, and that proper weld techniques are being followed.
• Setup, adjust, and verify welding equipment, fixture, jog and machinery is functioning properly and meeting all appropriate specifications for task/operation.
• Measure and verify welded components meet specified blueprints, sketches and/or specifications using various measurement equipment necessary to task.
• Perform operations/tasks as specified on router.
• Dispose of weld rods properly in assigned waste cans.
• Apply 6s principles to all areas of the plant.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years college/technical school or three years related experience/training with proven skills preferred.
• Good cognitive skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to comprehend routers, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operating instructions, manuals, specifications, correspondence.
• Problem solving skills, good judgement skills, good communication skills, basic computer skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Access to the facility (and, therefore, employment) is restricted under the International Traffic in Arms
