Detailed Responsibilities: • To be available for duty, as required, on at least two days before the commencement of each term and be in Beijing 24 hours before the start of each new term.• To positively support the teacher in all aspects of class work and pastoral care as directed. • Be a positive role model of the highest caliber to pupils of all ages and be an ‘ambassador’ for BSB in the Beijing community.• To actively assist in the delivery of effective learning experiences, e.g. working with individual children/small groups during lessons. • To assist in displaying children’s work as per school policy.• To assist in the induction of new children into class life as appropriate.• To supervise activities as directed by the teacher.• To actively share supervision of children in the school during break periods.• To eat lunch on site in the school dining room each day and to supervise children as per school policy. • To use personal expertise to enhance children’s learning experiences both in the classroom and during After School Activities (2 per week). • Complete class and Key Stage secretarial duties (including filing and photocopying) in a timely fashion, ensuring a quality finished product.• To attend and contribute where appropriate to the general staff meetings, training and talks for teachers and TAs, as deemed appropriate.• To attend formal parent meetings, parent workshops and events during the school day, and occasionally at the weekend or evenings.• To advise as appropriate in the compilation of reports by the teacher.• To warmly and enthusiastically assist parents if, for any reason, the teacher is not present. • Attend twice-weekly Chinese lessons in school as required by the school.
