Surgical/Room Technologist (Pediatrics) - Syracuse, NY (#25266)

Hourly Rate: $54/hour

Position Overview:

Provide specialized surgical support for pediatric procedures in a Level I trauma center and academic medical environment. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal outcomes for pediatric patients across complex specialties.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience (within the last 4 years) in: Acute care facilities comparable to Level 1 trauma centers or teaching hospitals.
  • Specialty areas such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, GU, and GYN.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred.
  • Scrub experience is required.
• Technical Skills:
  • Complex pediatric scrub procedures.
  • Sterile field maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare/sterilize instruments for pediatric surgeries.
• Anticipate surgeon needs during complex procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection protocols.
• Handle specialized pediatric surgical equipment.
• Assist in trauma, orthopedic, and neurosurgical cases.
• Coordinate specimen management and documentation.
