In addition to STFS, the company develops and manufactures more than 200 unique products all designed in house for the aerospace, defense, and energy sectors. WilliamsRDM is seeking a StoveTop FireStop (STFS) Assembly Line Supervisor to provide dynamic leadership, work direction, and supervision for workers performing assembly tasks in a high-volume, automated production environment. This fast-paced role demands a rapid-response leader capable of making quick, accurate decisions and adapting to a constantly changing environment. The successful candidate will excel at managing both upward communication with leadership and downward direction with team members, ensuring seamless collaboration across all levels. The supervisor will plan and assign work to meet production, continuous improvement, and lead time goals while maintaining exceptional product quality standards, fostering high team performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise STFS assembly workers, providing clear direction and leadership in a high-volume, automated production setting.
  • Maintain stringent product quality standards to ensure all STFS products meet specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean principles, to optimize efficiency and output.
  • Achieve segment output goals across all three STFS models through rapid decision-making and adaptive planning.
  • Plan and assign work by priority to meet production schedules and timelines, ensuring departmental goals are met or exceeded.
  • Provide coaching and discipline to assembly employees as needed, enforcing policies and work rules fairly and consistently.
  • Train employees on job functions, safety requirements, and operational procedures to support a high-performance team.
  • Manage production databases to track output, maintain data logs, and generate reports on production criteria.
  • Communicate effectively with purchasing to address parts constraints and ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Deliver end-of-shift pass-down emails to department heads, clearly summarizing shift status and critical updates.
  • Oversee machine setup and troubleshoot issues in automated equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Periodically operate machines and processes to support production needs.
  • Execute special projects as assigned by the Operations Director.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Policy, Procedures, OSHA guidelines, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Prepare team members for ISO audits and maintain a tour-ready production line at all times.
  • Conduct daily start-of-shift meetings to set goals, communicate critical updates, and align the team.
  • Lead by example to foster a teamwork environment, promote high morale, and develop a Line Lead for future supervisory roles.
  • Maintain proper headcount during maximum capacity operations to meet production demands.
  • Attend meetings as requested, representing the department in the absence of the Operations Director.

Education & Training

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • College education in a related field (e.g., manufacturing, operations, or business) is a plus.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to make quick, accurate decisions.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience, ideally managing teams in high-volume, automated production settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word) and production software (e.g., ERP systems or databases) for real-time decision-making.
  • Experience adapting to rapidly changing production priorities and collaborating effectively with both team members and senior leadership.
  • Ability to pass an ATF questionnaire and background check.
