A day on press

It’s 1:55 p.m. in Minneapolis, MN, 55428. You badge in, review the job ticket, and walk the makeready on a KBA 105/106 sheetfed press. By 2:00 p.m., plates are mounted, stocks are staged, and you’re dialing in ink/water balance. Throughout the afternoon and evening, you watch registration like a hawk, keep color tight, and keep the line humming safely and efficiently. At shift end, you hand off clear notes so tomorrow’s production hits the ground running.

Schedule

2nd shift, four 10-hour days: Mon – Thu, 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

What you’ll run

• KBA 105 and 106 sheetfed presses (6- and 7-color, 40")
• Large Format Printing Equipment

What you’ll do

• Set up, operate, and maintain lithographic printing presses for consistent, high-quality output.
• Monitor press operations to sustain color, registration, and overall quality.
• Balance inks and fountain solution to achieve optimal print results.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
• Partner with production teammates to meet schedules and throughput goals.
• Keep the press area clean, organized, and audit-ready.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing technology is a plus.
• Hands-on experience as a Litho Press Operator or similar role.
• Solid grasp of printing processes, materials, and equipment.
• Meticulous attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Clear communication and a positive, team-first attitude.
• Flexibility to work overtime as business needs require.
