About the role:
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Principal dives deep into research and analysis of complex datasets to identify problems and develop strategies that help clients solve problems and improve their company’s performance. A Senior Principal is also a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via virtual meetings and live events to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.
What you will do:
Create high quality, clear, actionable, “must-have research” content
Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts and provide clients, including vendors, with actionable insights based on market research and positioning
Conduct research and analysis supporting key initiatives
Develop and provide expertise to guide clients to the best actions for them and their organizations
Apply critical thinking skills to de-construct and frame challenging client questions
Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face-to-face interactions
Proactively support Sales and Service and other internal stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes
Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
Provide high quality and timely research content peer review
Actively participate in innovation, ideation and research efforts to discuss research issues; Collaborate effectively with peers in the research community
Subject Matter Expertise: ·
Security Information and Event Management (SIEM): Evaluating and selecting tools, Use case design, RFP Assistance and Review
Security Operations Center (SOC), Building and managing a modern SOC including exposure to the following: Defining roles, responsibilities, and skills Driving In-source/Outsource Decisions and exploring the role of AI
Evaluating, selecting and partnering with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) providers
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
8-10 years of relevant field or industry experience
Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
Demonstrate superior analytical skills while applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions
Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team
Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables
Adept at analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks to client challenges
Strong business and financial acumen
Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders
Subject matter expertise; Comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
Demonstrate willingness and foundation ability to mentor and coach others
Flexible thinker adept at change and experienced navigating highly matrixed environments
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (where applicable)
