About the Role 

NorthRock’s Operations Internship is a part-time, Minneapolis-based opportunity for students interested in financial operations within a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm. Over the course of the semester, you’ll assist with client service support, internal operations, and participate in a rotational study course to better understand NorthRock’s integrated business model.

This internship is part-time, averaging 20 hours per week during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) and requires regular onsite presence in our Minneapolis, MN office.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with Operations Associates to enhance internal processes and workflows
• Support preparation of client meeting materials and documentation
• Submit and track client paperwork via custodial systems
• Scan and organize accurate client records
• Participate in a rotational business study program
• Contribute to a capstone project focused on financial planning
• Gain exposure to core departments and cross-functional teams
• Provide general administrative and operational support as needed

What You Bring

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
• Junior or senior class standing preferred
• Prior internship or business experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Interest in financial planning, operations, or investment services
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Successful completion of a credit and criminal background check is required

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly rate for this role is $20.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for Employee Sick & Safe Time (ESST). For more details on ESST, visit the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's website.
