Missions Solutions Software Developer Location Herndon, VA : Mission Solutions Software Developer Job Overview As a Mission Solutions Software Developer, you will be a member of the USG go to market team working directly with customers and collaborating with Business Development, Sales, Product and the Technology Organization to design and develop demonstratable proofs-of-technology and ensure successful integration and adoption of solutions with customers to impact their critical missions. You will be working a wide variety of customers and use cases and will influence these opportunities with the team to push innovative and effective solutions where you will be relied upon to exercise your creativity, pragmatic and effective technology choices and approaches. An ideal candidate possesses strategic and analytic aptitude, software development expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy technology solutions as proofs-of-concept.
- Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers.
- Develop and present innovative, scalable, and cost-effective solutions to meet customer needs.
- Continually assess product quality, release readiness, and maintain existing Maxar solutions.
- Create detailed solution architecture documentation and present it to stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and government regulations.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Physics, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of Proven experience in a relevant technology domain (e.g., Machine Learning, GIS, Satellite Imagery)
- Experience with developing product demonstrations and proofs of concept to showcase the capabilities and benefits of solutions to potential customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Government security clearance (or the ability to obtain one) may be required.
Preferred Skills - Experience working with US Government customers, including those in technical and leadership positions.
- Demonstrated experience working with one or more public or private cloud solutions.
- Understanding of U.S. Government infrastructure and security requirements.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business benefits.
- Experience with Git or other version control software and DevSecOps
- Significant software development experience with C++, Python or similar
- Strong experience with large geospatial datasets, storage, access patterns and formats
- Experience working with MISB Standard 0601 data and integrating multiple sensor feeds in both real time and offline scenarios.
- Creative problem solver and a team player.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote and/or geographically distributed teams.
Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is: $130,000.00 - $218,000.00 annually. Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
