Join Eaton as a CNC Brake Press Forming Technician
Step into a hands-on role where precision meets craftsmanship. As a key contributor on our fabrication team, you’ll shape sheet metal components on a press brake, ensure top-tier quality, and keep production moving safely and efficiently.
A day in the life
- Begin your shift geared up with proper PPE and review blueprints, drawings, and job instructions.
- Set up the press brake: select and install tooling, program or adjust parameters, and run the first-piece to specification.
- Inspect using measurement gauges; complete first-piece approvals and document routing tags and scrap tickets as needed.
- Run production, making fine adjustments to machine, tooling, and wheels to hold tolerances.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance to keep equipment in peak condition.
- Assemble standard and engineered-to-order components using hand and pneumatic tools, and move WIP to the next operation.
- Partner with teammates, flex to other departments as needed, and maintain an orderly, safe work area.
What you’ll bring
- High school diploma/GED (accredited)
- At least 1 year of press brake machine experience
- Strong oral and written communication; able to read and interpret wiring schematics, blueprints, and drawings
- Comfort with material handling carts (push/pull 50 lbs) and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to learn, cross-train, and support adjacent processes; excellent housekeeping habits
- No relocation provided; candidates must live within 50 miles of the facility (Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographic limitation)
Preferred
- 1+ year in metal fabrication or related trade
- Experience with press brakes, lasers, or CNC equipment
- Basic computer literacy and shop math skills
