Job Description

Local company is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy bookkeeper with excellent communication skills to support daily interactions with the company president, clients, and contractors. Professional demeanor, clear and concise reporting, and experience in both AR and AP-related issues are key to ensuring smooth financial operations. Proficiency with AppFolio and/or QuickBooks is a mus t.

Responsibilities:

As a bookkeeper in this role, you will be managing our financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting function.
• Professional day-to-day interactions with clients (AR) and contractors (AP).
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of weekly, monthly, year-end, and ad hoc financial reporting.
• Manage client notification and collections of past due accounts receivable.
• Must ensure timely distribution of year-end W-2s and 1099s.
• Improve systems and procedures, and initiate corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement of the accounting function.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
• Extreme respect for the confidential nature of the role and information.
• Provide clerical, HR, and Payroll assistance as needed.
• Other clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• 5 – 10 years of bookkeeping experience; 3 – 5 years secretarial experience
• Must have strong proficiency in AppFolio and/or QuickBooks and Microsoft Office 
• Ability to meet deadlines and extreme attention to detail
• Property Management/Real Estate Experience a plus
• Proficiency with account software and Microsoft Office Suite
