FocusPoint is partnering with a well established, multi entity organization to identify an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail driven accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working across multiple businesses, and brings strong financial management expertise.

This position offers the opportunity to oversee full cycle accounting operations, support leadership with financial insights, and ensure accurate, timely reporting across several client entities.

About the Role

The Accounting Manager / Controller will manage day to day accounting functions, maintain accurate financial records, and provide operational and financial support to leadership teams. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a high level of professionalism when interacting with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple entities
• Prepare timely monthly financial statements and supporting workpapers
• Review financials and propose adjusting journal entries as needed
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Perform monthly reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
• Analyze balance sheets and income statements for accuracy and trends
• Prepare non income related tax filings (e.g., sales tax, property tax, annual returns)
• Support payroll processes and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Communicate effectively with client leadership, owners, and internal teams
• Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, industry specific platforms, etc.) to process transactions
• Build and maintain Excel spreadsheets for reporting and analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• Minimum 3 years of GAAP based accounting experience in private industry
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks , Excel , and MS Office
• Experience preparing financial statements and workpapers
• Familiarity with AP/AR processes, 1099s, and reconciliations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
