**Job Title: A&P Mechanic** **Job Description** The A&P Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards. This role includes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in hangar environments, real-time line maintenance, and rapid-response AOG support. **Responsibilities** + Perform heavy maintenance, modifications, and overhauls on aircraft systems and structures. + Use technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repairs. + Document all work performed in accordance with regulatory and company procedures. + Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins. + Conduct pre-flight, post-flight, and turnaround inspections. + Troubleshoot and resolve issues during aircraft operations. + Replace components and perform minor repairs to ensure aircraft readiness. + Coordinate with flight crews and dispatch for real-time updates. + Respond to urgent aircraft issues that prevent flight operations. + Travel to remote locations as needed to perform repairs. + Work independently under time-sensitive conditions. + Communicate with operations and maintenance control to expedite solutions. **Essential Skills** + Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification. + Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial aircraft maintenance. + Strong understanding of FAA regulations and aircraft systems. + Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings. + Proficient in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and test instruments. + Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. + Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform overhead work. + Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. + Capable of standing, kneeling, and walking for extended periods. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environments. + Familiarity with hazardous material handling. + Ability to obtain airport SIDA badge (background check required). **Why Work Here?** This position offers a long-term opportunity with competitive pay and the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring aircraft readiness and safety. **Work Environment** Work primarily takes place in a hangar setting with a day shift from Monday to Friday. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on urgent aircraft maintenance and repair. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
