Bharatesh Education Trust Creates Awareness against Plastic Use

Around 2500 students and staff of Bharatesh institutions joined in a mega rally on Wednesday 16th October 2019. The rally, which began at 8.30 a.m. from the Fort campus, was flagged off by MLA Abhay Patil, MLA Adv. Anil Benake, Gopal Krishnan, Regional Officer, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and Col. Vinay Sadasivan, Commanding Officer of TA 115 Batallion. The rally coincided with the visit of Swami Vivekanand who visited Belgaum on 15th October 1892 as also the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhay Patil reiterated the commitment made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the ramparts of the Red Fort this year. He was all praise for Bharatesh Education Trust which has always been at the forefront of such activities. Adv. Benake lauded the initiative to create awareness against plastic pollution.

Rajeev Doddanavar, Secretary, Bharatesh Education Trust, committed full support for a plastic free campus and said that it must begin from oneself. Gopal Krishnan and Col. Sadasivan also expressed their views.

The rally passed through CBT, Khade Bazar, Mali Galli and Karnatak Chowk. Students performed street plays at CBT and Karnatak Chowk. Large teams of students walked through the bylanes in this area and collected plastic trash and distributed specially created cotton bags for free from this area. 2500 cotton bags were distributed in this area.

Members of the Managing Committee of Bharatesh, Heads of all institutions, all staff members and students participated in this mega rally.
